Direct marketing is a channel-agnostic form of
advertising that allows businesses and nonprofits to communicate
straight to the customer, with advertising techniques such as mobile
messaging, email, interactive consumer websites, online display ads,
fliers, catalog distribution, promotional letters, and outdoor
advertising.
Two different forms of digital marketing exist: In pull digital marketing, the consumer actively seeks the marketing content, often via web searches or opening an email, text message or web feed. Websites, blogs and streaming media (audio and video) are examples of pull digital marketing.
